Terms of Use
Terms of Use
Last updated: August 27, 2026
These Terms of Use (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of the Keel Career website, resources, programs, and services.
By accessing this website, downloading a resource, purchasing a service, booking a session, or otherwise using Keel Career’s offerings, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree with them, please do not use the website or services.
About Keel Career
Keel Career (“Keel Career,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) provides career coaching, values-based reflection tools, educational resources, workshops, programs, and related services.
Contact information appears at the end of these Terms.
Eligibility
You must be at least 18 years old and legally capable of entering into a contract to purchase or participate in Keel Career services.
If you use the website or services on behalf of an organization, you represent that you have authority to accept these Terms on its behalf.
Nature of the Services
Keel Career provides coaching, facilitation, reflection tools, educational information, and career-development support.
Coaching is a collaborative process intended to support reflection, decision-making, planning, and personal or professional development. You remain responsible for your decisions, actions, results, and well-being.
Keel Career does not guarantee employment, advancement, income, business results, personal transformation, or any other particular outcome.
Not Professional Advice or Treatment
Keel Career’s website, resources, Values Map, coaching, programs, and communications are not medical care, psychotherapy, counselling, crisis intervention, legal advice, financial advice, tax advice, or any other regulated professional service.
Nothing provided by Keel Career creates a doctor-patient, therapist-client, lawyer-client, accountant-client, or other regulated professional relationship.
You should consult an appropriately qualified professional regarding medical, psychological, legal, financial, tax, or other specialized concerns. If you are experiencing an emergency or crisis, contact emergency services or an appropriate crisis-support provider in your area.
Coaching Relationship
A successful coaching relationship depends on open communication, thoughtful participation, and personal responsibility.
By participating in a Keel Career service, you agree to:
provide information that is accurate to the best of your knowledge;
participate respectfully and in good faith;
attend scheduled sessions on time;
communicate relevant scheduling or participation concerns;
make your own decisions and take responsibility for them; and
seek qualified professional assistance when an issue falls outside the scope of coaching.
Keel Career may decline or discontinue a coaching relationship when the requested support is outside our scope, participation becomes unsafe or inappropriate, payment obligations are not met, or continuing would otherwise be unreasonable. Where appropriate, we will communicate the reason and address any unused prepaid services in accordance with the applicable agreement and law.
Values Map and Other Assessments
The Values Map and similar tools are intended for personal reflection, education, and discussion. They are not clinical, diagnostic, psychometric, or employment-selection instruments.
Results should not be treated as a diagnosis, prediction, certification, or definitive statement about your abilities, personality, suitability, or future. Their value depends partly on the information you provide and how you interpret and apply the material.
Bookings and Sessions
Bookings are subject to availability and are confirmed only after you receive a confirmation from Keel Career or its scheduling provider.
You are responsible for ensuring that your contact information, time zone, and appointment details are correct.
Sessions may be delivered by video conference, telephone, or another agreed method. You are responsible for having suitable technology, internet access, and a reasonably private environment.
If technical problems caused by Keel Career prevent a session from proceeding, we will make reasonable efforts to reschedule it. Keel Career is not responsible for interruptions caused by your equipment, internet connection, environment, or third-party platforms, although we may offer reasonable assistance or rescheduling at our discretion.
Fees and Payment
Prices and payment terms will be disclosed before you purchase a service. Unless otherwise stated, prices are in Canadian dollars and applicable taxes may be added.
You agree to provide accurate billing information and authorize the applicable payment processor to charge the amount shown at checkout.
Payments may be processed by third-party providers. Keel Career does not directly collect or store complete payment-card numbers.
For online purchases above any legally prescribed threshold, you will receive or be able to retain a record of the transaction containing the required purchase details.
Cancellations and Rescheduling
You may reschedule or cancel an individual session by providing at least 48 hours’ notice using the scheduling system or by contacting Keel Career.
Sessions cancelled with sufficient notice may be rescheduled without an additional fee, subject to availability.
Sessions cancelled with less than 48 hours’ notice, and missed sessions without notice, may be treated as used and may not be refundable. Keel Career may make exceptions in the case of illness, emergency, or other reasonable circumstances.
If Keel Career needs to cancel a session, you may choose between rescheduling the session or receiving a refund or credit for the affected session.
Nothing in this section limits any cancellation or refund right provided by applicable consumer-protection law.
Packages and Programs
Unless otherwise stated in writing:
coaching packages must be used within six months of purchase;
program access is personal and may not be transferred without permission;
unused sessions may expire at the end of the stated package period; and
extensions may be granted when reasonable circumstances justify them.
Any package-specific description, proposal, checkout page, or service agreement may contain additional terms. If those terms conflict with these general Terms, the more specific service or purchase terms will govern for that service.
Digital Resources
Digital resources may include worksheets, guides, recordings, templates, exercises, the Values Map, and related materials.
Because digital resources may be delivered immediately, purchases of digital resources are final sale/non-refundable once access or delivery has occurred, except where:
the resource is defective or materially different from its description;
duplicate payment was made;
Keel Career approves a refund; or
a refund or cancellation is required by law.
Before publishing this section, replace the bracketed wording with the refund policy you intend to follow.
Refunds
Requests for refunds should be submitted to hello@keelcareer with the purchaser’s name, purchase details, and reason for the request.
Approved refunds will normally be returned through the original payment method. Processing times may depend on the payment provider.
Any refund policy described on a checkout page, proposal, or service agreement forms part of these Terms. Nothing in these Terms removes rights that cannot legally be waived.
Confidentiality
Keel Career will treat information shared during coaching as private and will use reasonable care to protect it.
Confidentiality is subject to exceptions, including when:
you provide consent to disclosure;
disclosure is required or permitted by law, court order, or legal process;
there is a reasonable concern involving serious and imminent harm;
information must be shared with a service provider supporting the delivery or administration of services;
disclosure is reasonably necessary to collect an unpaid amount or obtain professional advice; or
information has been anonymized so that it no longer identifies you.
Because coaching may occur through email, video conferencing, scheduling systems, cloud services, or other electronic tools, absolute confidentiality and security cannot be guaranteed.
The handling of personal information is further described in the Keel Career Privacy Policy.
Testimonials and Feedback
Keel Career will not publish your name, photograph, testimonial, identifiable story, or coaching results for promotional purposes without your permission.
If you voluntarily provide feedback, Keel Career may use it internally to improve its services. Any public or promotional use of identifiable feedback will require appropriate consent.
You may withdraw permission for future uses of an identifiable testimonial by contacting Keel Career. Withdrawal will not necessarily require the recall of materials already lawfully produced or distributed.
Intellectual Property
The website and all materials provided by Keel Career—including text, branding, graphics, worksheets, frameworks, exercises, videos, recordings, guides, and the Values Map—are owned by or licensed to Keel Career and are protected by intellectual-property laws.
Keel Career grants you a limited, personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to access and use purchased or freely provided materials for your own personal, non-commercial use.
Unless Keel Career gives prior written permission, you may not:
reproduce, republish, sell, sublicense, or commercially exploit the materials;
share paid materials or account access with another person;
modify or create derivative commercial products from the materials;
remove copyright, trademark, or ownership notices;
use the materials to provide competing coaching, training, or assessment services;
scrape, systematically download, or extract website content; or
record a session without the knowledge and consent of everyone participating.
You retain ownership of original material you provide to Keel Career. You grant Keel Career permission to use that material only as reasonably necessary to provide and administer the services, comply with law, and exercise rights under these Terms.
Acceptable Use
You agree not to:
use the website or services unlawfully or fraudulently;
interfere with the security, availability, or operation of the website;
introduce malware, malicious code, or harmful material;
attempt to gain unauthorized access to systems, accounts, or information;
impersonate another person or misrepresent your identity;
submit content that infringes another person’s rights;
harass, threaten, abuse, or discriminate against another person;
use automated tools to scrape or copy substantial website content; or
use Keel Career materials or services in a way that could harm Keel Career or another person.
Keel Career may restrict or terminate access when these Terms are materially violated.
Website Information
We try to keep website information accurate and current, but information may occasionally contain errors, omissions, or outdated material.
Website content is provided for general educational and informational purposes. You should independently evaluate information before relying on it for an important decision.
Keel Career may update, correct, remove, or change website content and service descriptions without notice. Changes will not alter an existing paid agreement without any consent required by law.
Third-Party Services and Links
The website and services may rely on or link to third-party platforms, including scheduling, video conferencing, payment, email, analytics, or social-media services.
Third-party services are governed by their own terms and privacy policies. Keel Career does not control and is not responsible for the availability, content, security, or practices of independent third-party services.
A link or integration does not necessarily mean that Keel Career endorses the third party.
Service Availability
We aim to provide reliable access but do not guarantee that the website, resources, or online systems will always be uninterrupted, error-free, or available.
Access may be interrupted by maintenance, security concerns, technical failures, third-party outages, events beyond reasonable control, or changes to the services.
Where an interruption materially affects a paid service, Keel Career will make reasonable efforts to provide an appropriate remedy, which may include rescheduling, replacement access, a credit, or a refund.
Disclaimer of Warranties
To the extent permitted by law, the website, general content, and free resources are provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis.
Keel Career does not make promises about specific career, employment, financial, business, personal, or other outcomes.
This disclaimer does not exclude warranties, guarantees, or rights that cannot lawfully be excluded, including applicable consumer-protection rights.
Limitation of Liability
To the extent permitted by law, Keel Career will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, exemplary, or consequential losses arising from the use of the website, free resources, or services, including lost opportunities, income, profits, data, or goodwill.
Where liability cannot lawfully be excluded, Keel Career’s liability will be limited only to the extent permitted by applicable law.
Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability for fraud, wilful misconduct, gross negligence, or any other liability that cannot legally be excluded or limited.
Privacy
Keel Career’s collection, use, retention, disclosure, and protection of personal information are governed by the Keel Career Privacy Policy, which forms part of these Terms.
Changes to These Terms
Keel Career may update these Terms to reflect changes to its services, business practices, technology, or legal obligations.
The updated version will be posted on this page with a revised “Last updated” date. Changes will apply prospectively unless otherwise stated or permitted by law.
If a material change affects an existing paid service, we will provide any notice or obtain any consent required by law.
Termination
You may stop using the website at any time.
Keel Career may suspend or terminate access when you materially violate these Terms, fail to make a required payment, misuse the website or materials, or engage in conduct that makes continuing the relationship unsafe or unreasonable.
Termination does not affect rights and obligations that arose before termination. Provisions concerning payment, confidentiality, intellectual property, disclaimers, liability, and dispute resolution will continue where appropriate.
Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Province of [Ontario] and the federal laws of Canada applicable there, without regard to conflict-of-law principles.
Subject to any rights you have under applicable consumer-protection law, disputes will be submitted to the courts located in [Ontario].
Nothing in this section prevents you from exercising rights or remedies available under the mandatory laws of your province, territory, state, or country.
General Provisions
If any provision of these Terms is found to be invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions will continue in effect.
A failure by Keel Career to enforce a provision is not a waiver of the right to enforce it later.
These Terms, together with the Privacy Policy and any applicable checkout terms, proposal, booking policy, or service agreement, form the agreement concerning your use of the website and relevant services.
